THINGS TO SEE AND DO Huahine consists of two islands, Huahine Nui in the north and Huahine Iti in the south, separated by a narrow hollow channel. This mountainous island has magnificent indented bays and some lovely white sand beaches. The fertile soils provide a varied and abundant supply of fruit and vegetables. One of the largest and best preserved archaeological sites - the Maeva marae, which is a group of a number of large marae - is located at the foot of Mount Mouatapu on the shores of lake Fauna Nui.
